Here's what the plan is:
There have been requests for just about every character ever, so I'm splitting them up as best I can into groups from each series, and putting them up in sections. I'll do the groups with the most popular characters from the original poll first, then probably reopen the comments on the requests page for the runners up.
Please check the requests page first, but if you want to request new characters / series, it would be helpful if you can spell out their full name and the name of the series, because I don't know everyone. There were a lot of requests like "What's her name from desu the herp derp (can't remember the name lol!)" before, and if I can't work out who you mean I can't add it to the list.
I'll be watching the comments in whichever post is the latest poll post (here for now) for requests. I will try and catch requests elsewhere, but I can't promise I'll see them all.
There are two restrictions: 1) If the character's art style is so different from the template that they would look wrong, they will only be added if I can find time to add custom face types for them. 2) I'm avoiding Western IPs because that's just a world of pain. I don't like it either, but it's way too easy to get taken down for this.
To try and be as fair as possible, I'll aim to include a single most popular character from each series first, or one or two more if there are several that are extremely popular. (Taking into account the number of votes, including the original manual votes in the old request post, compared to the traffic over the time the poll is up.) If I ever manage to finish that, I'll go back and add second place chars. I'll be working on new features for a while first though.
However, don't worry if your fav character isn't getting votes, I'll be working on some method of importing at least static hair for characters as a priority. (It may require you being able to type file paths! and change security settings! But if you can't handle that, what are you doing playing porn games?)

ReplyDeleteAvoiding being too generic: Popular chars are popular, but I will take into account which chars will actually add something different when I start adding them.
I have an idea for a way to adjust the hue of hair. Full rgb choice like for the lipstick doesn't work so well for hair because it just becomes one flat hue with different brightnesses.
Other eyes: Other types are planned, added blank / hypnosis eyes to the todo list.
Other bodies: Will try.
Thumbnails / better char list in game: Might have to add this, yes, or give it its own tab in the menu.
You made updates on the characters fairly often before the game's release, are you going to take a while and release characters in "packs" or is there a way for you to update the .swf and release it fairly easily with few changes?

Even though I'm a big fan of One Piece and many of the videogames these girls are taken from, I do agree that this could end up being some incredibly generic thing if you ONLY go for the very most popular ones.
ReplyDeleteThere are a good number of characters such as Kino (Kino's Journey) and Lal'c (Diebuster, aka Gunbuster 2) that I know always get a lot of love on /a/ and other places but aren't going to compete with the endless Gaia-esque love for series like Naruto.
Please, please consider Vriska Serket from Homestuck. It's technically a western IP, but it's an internet-based project wholly creator owned and he has given tacit endorsement to all kinds of fan works (specific details from fanart smut have even migrated to the canon over time).

ReplyDeleteI'd just like an larger range of Breast sizes myself aa-to-dd, so you could fit the breasts to a nice range of characters. I like that there are breast size options a lot in the first place. More options to customize the girl to anyone's liking, without preset characters, would be a great thing in general. The lipstick shade color changing is great, if you could do that with eye make up, hair color (for non-set hairs) and skin tone you could get it to a point where players could just create their own characters, rather than you having to make them specifically yourself.

well done, i'm loving this. not character requests, but some features - agree with breast sizes (flat and huge sizes), but want to add more - ability to change the colour of the nipples, small, fuffy or large nipples, fuller lips option, maybe the guy thrusts forward a bit when cumming (so you know better than just the white edge). in bukkake mode, maybe extreme bukkake mode (x10 cum, i want to drown her or give her a bath). the xray option would be cool but i can imagine difficult to achieve. happy with the position, but would also like you to consider a 69 side view?

ReplyDeleteI just want to say that whatever characters wind up getting the most votes, please try to make sure we get a little diversity. Throw in some different hair colors, some girls with darker skin (or completely different skin colors altogether ie. Astaroth), maybe a demon girl or two, some catgirls, and a couple of elves. I'd say pick the most popular from each series and then if there isn't as much variety as there should be, throw in a couple extra characters just to round out the roster. As has been noted before, the game as-is has 6/12 blonde characters, It'd suck if you added a ton of new characters and they all looked the same.
